My Photos
Processing her black-and-white film during a photojournalism class sparked the start of Noël Marie’s love of photography. Her photos have accompanied her articles throughout her news career. As an author, she includes her photos in her books: “River of My Ancestors: The Rio Grande in Pictures,” “Proverbs on Animals, Plants and Nature,” “Windows into the Beauty of Flowers & Nature,” and “Pathways in Time: Photo Journeys.”
Noël Marie’s art photography consists of abstracts, nature, wildlife, urban and noiresque night visuals. Her distinctive style of photography blends realism and still life in nature and urban scenes to illuminate the world around us. Her photos are windows into the unseen beauty of nature, objects created by people and sometimes contrasts between the two. Noël’s visual expressions reflect her cultural duality. She expresses her Hispanic culture in capturing vibrant colors and light vs. dark interplays, as well as patterns and shapes.
She enjoys capturing moments in time, especially overlooked scenes and the many incredible forms of nature and animals living together around us. Her moody night imagery evokes the suspenseful anticipation of 1940s film noir.

Exhibition History
- November 2025: Arts Club of Washington—Noël-Marie Fletcher, solo show
- Curated by Dr. Erich Keel, of Zurich, Switzerland, who retired from The Kreeger Museum in Washington, D.C. after serving as head of education from 1999-2013. He is a respected art historian and scholar of modern and contemporary art.

“Noël does not want to imitate painting as some … photographers do. I believe she uses her camera to achieve what photography does best—zoom in on humble facts of life and read the beauty of general activities.”—Dr. Keel
“I need to compliment Noël on another level—her sensitivity to light. As you know, the word ‘photography’ is derived from Greek. It means ‘glowing with light.’…It is noteworthy that Noël doesn’t just focus on anything extra. She makes light her very subject.”—Dr. Keel
- September 2025, 2024, 2023 & 2022: National Press Club, Washington, DC—Noël-Marie Fletcher, group exhibition
The National Press Club’s annual members photography exhibit runs every September in the Club’s main lobby on the 13th Floor of the National Press Building, 529 14th Street NW in Washington, D.C. This exhibit, which started over 20 years ago, is National Press Club’s annual celebration of visual story-telling.
